Who We Are

Our website address is: https://japostei.com/

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser details, to help detect spam.

An anonymized string of characters created from your email address (also known as a hash) may be sent to Gravatar to check whether you use their service. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes publicly visible alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the site, avoid ones that include embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download these images from the site and extract that location data.

Cookies

When you leave a comment on the site, you can choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience, so you don’t have to re-enter your details next time you comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you have an account and log in to this site, we’ll set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log into your account, we also set up several cookies to save your account details and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out will remove your login cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data — it simply stores the ID of the post you just edited, and it expires after 1 day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content, such as videos, images, articles, and more. Content embedded from other websites behaves just as if you had visited that other site directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content — including your interactions if you have an account and are logged into that site.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the password reset email.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them for moderation.

For users who register on our site (if applicable), we also store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username). Site administrators can also view and edit this information.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you’ve provided to us. You can also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This doesn’t include any data we’re required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
